Cinnamon Roll French Toast Bake: A Delightful Breakfast Treat

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cans 12.4 ounces each refrigerated cinnamon roll dough
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans optional
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar for glaze

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Open the cans of cinnamon roll dough and cut each roll into four equal pieces using a sharp knife.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  4. Place the cinnamon roll pieces into the greased baking dish and evenly distribute them.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the cinnamon roll pieces, ensuring to cover them completely.
  6. If desired, sprinkle the chopped pecans on top for added crunch.
  7. Drizzle maple syrup over the top of the mixture.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
  9. While the bake is cooling, mix the powdered sugar with a small amount of milk until a smooth glaze forms.
  10. Once baked, drizzle the glaze over the warm Cinnamon Roll French Toast Bake and serve immediately.

Notes

Storage & Reheating:
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, simply warm in the microwave for 30-60 seconds, or until heated through.
