Equipment

  • 1 Large skillet
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Chef’s knife
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Tongs

Method

  1. Begin by seasoning the steak pieces generously with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning in a mixing bowl. Make sure the seasoning is well-distributed.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak pieces in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until browned and cooked to your desired doneness.
  3. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside on a plate. In the same skillet, add the butter and allow it to melt over medium heat.
  4. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter, stirring for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  5. Next, add the sliced zucchini to the skillet. Sauté the zucchini for 5-7 minutes until tender but still crisp, stirring occasionally.
  6. Return the steak to the skillet with the zucchini. Toss the steak and zucchini in the garlic butter mixture to combine all the flavors. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through.
  7. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Storage & Reheating:
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, warm in a skillet over medium heat until heated through, about 5 minutes.
Variations:
- For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the garlic butter.
- Swap zucchinis for asparagus or bell peppers for a different vegetable profile.
- Use chicken breast or shrimp instead of steak for a lighter protein option.
- Add cherry tomatoes for a burst of sweetness and color.
- Incorporate your favorite herbs like thyme or rosemary for added flavor.
